Privacy Policy

The short version: WeedorNOT has no server. Your lawn photos go directly to Groq AI. We never see your yard.

1. Architecture

WeedorNOT is a client-side web application hosted as static files on Cloudflare Pages. There is no WeedOrNOT backend server, database, or analytics platform.

2. Your API Key

Your Groq API key is stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage. It is never transmitted to us. All API calls go directly from your browser to api.groq.com.

3. Plant Photos & Data

When you scan a plant:

Your photo is sent directly from your browser to Groq's API for plant identification
The photo never touches our servers (we have none)
Plant data is sent to Groq's compound search for weed identification and removal recommendations
We do not store, log, or have access to any of your scans or results

4. What We Store

On your device only:

Your Groq API key (in localStorage)
Your Auto-ID toggle preference

On our servers: Nothing. There are no servers.

5. Third-Party Services

Groq (api.groq.com): Processes your plant photos and runs identification searches. Subject to Groq's Privacy Policy.
Cloudflare Pages: Hosts the static files. Standard CDN access logs may apply.
Google Fonts: Loads the Inter typeface. Subject to Google's privacy policy.

6. Cookies & Tracking

WeedOrNOT uses zero cookies, zero analytics, and zero tracking scripts. No Google Analytics. No Facebook Pixel. No fingerprinting. Nothing.

7. Law Enforcement

We cannot comply with data requests because we have no data. Your scans exist only in your browser and in Groq's systems (per their policies).

8. Children's Privacy

WeedOrNOT does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.
